The Sandbox came to be through the generous donations of our Friends of The Sandbox, community members, and local businesses. In 2005, we opened the doors as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. ALL our proceeds go directly to the museum’s operating cost and special outreach programs. Your donation, no matter how large or small, has an incredible impact on children right here in the Lowcountry. Each year we serve more than 5,000 children within our community via outreach programs, offer membership discounts to families in need, and welcome field trips for low-income students.
