The Sandcastle
Explore the Sand Castle, sit and read a book, play puppets in the theatre or have tons of fun on the slide!
STEM Lab
Dive into hands-on learning in our STEM Lab, designed for kids ages 7 and up! Explore 3D printers, robotics, interactive educational games, GoCube challenges, microscope stations, and more — where curiosity comes to life and young minds can build, create, and discover.
The Cafe
Step into our Café and get cooking! Kids can take orders, grill and BBQ, serve coffee, flip burgers, and scoop ice cream while practicing teamwork, creativity, and real-world skills through imaginative play.
Kinetic Sand Tables
Here at The Sandbox we have two sandtables. The first is filled with kinetic sand and allows the child to create with their imagination. The second is a 3D holographic sandtable which allows the child to experience a aariety of biomes from around the world whilel moving the sand around the table.
Interactive Lego Wall
Children of all ages love creating with Lego’s on our vertical wall.
Light Table
Playing with light is fascinating for children. Here they can blend colors, build 3D structures and explore translucent items.
Shrimp Tales
Inspired by a real commercial shrimp boat, The Shrimp Tales allows for two levels of play, with a crawlspace underneath the upper deck. Learn the parts of a shrimp boats, the life cycle of the Atlantic White Shrimp, the history of commercial shrimping in South Carolina, and how shrimpers save the sea turtles with the T.E.D. Children can dress up in rain gear and boots and pretend to be a shrimper or learn the parts of the shrimp boat with flip cards.
Vet Clinic
Step into our Vet Clinic, where kids can care for animals through imaginative play—examining patients, practicing empathy, and learning what it means to be a veterinarian.
Makers Space
Create, design, and explore in our Makerspace! With a wide variety of arts and crafts materials—like fabric, buttons, pom-poms, sequins, and more—kids can build, experiment, and bring their own ideas to life through hands-on creativity.
Island Grocery
The grocery and shopping experience exercises the child’s social skills while providing opportunities for language and communications skills, health and physical development, by identifying fruits and vegetables, and engaging in conversation with their caregiver.
The Family Kitchen
The Café experience exercises the imagination while providing opportunities for Math skills like sorting and making change, health with creating a balance meal, and social skills by providing opportunities for group interactive play. Children can create balanced meals and wait on customers as if working a real restaurant.
Bepaw and Mimi's Dolphin Cove
This area is specifically designed for infants and toddlers visiting The Sandbox Children’s Museum. The children can enjoy crawling and sliding on their own play gym built just for their size and maneuverability. There are age appropriate toys and books as well as soft feature to sit in.
Pretend Dress Up
Transform and imagine in our Dress-Up Area! From princesses and firefighters to astronauts and more, kids can step into endless roles—plus spread their wings with magical fairy costumes for even more imaginative fun.
Outdoor Patio
Get moving and explore in our Outdoor Patio! Kids can wander through the Noodle Forest, take flight on an airplane, create colorful chalk art, and enjoy open-ended play in the fresh air.
