Core Beliefs and Operating Policies:
The Sandbox is dedicated to the positive development of young
children through play. The museum will offer quality educational
and family-oriented exhibits and programs.

We will:
- Help
children learn about love, trust and self-worth through interaction
with a parent or other caregiver.
Therefore,
-All children at the museum must be accompanied and supervised
at all times by a responsible adult.
-All children are expected to treat one another with mutual
respect by taking turns, talking so others can think and hear,
and keeping hands feet and other objects to themselves.
- Provide
families needed spaces in which to foster relationships with
one another.
Therefore,
-We will limit the number in the museum to maximum occupancy
limits.
-Visitors will recognize the need to move to the next exhibit
when others are waiting.
-Visitors will respect the limited space available in the museum.
Stroller parking will be allowed on the porch. Infant carriers
will be allowed as space permits.
- Strive
to provide a stimulating, progressive setting for children.
Therefore,
-The museum is designed for children under age 8.
-Visitors will wear attire appropriate for safe enjoyment of
the exhibits.
-Museum staff reserve the right to ask visitors to leave if
their behavior is disruptive or dangerous to self or others.
- Create
an environment that reflects the unique qualities of the Lowcountry
with images and exhibits echoing local sights and sounds.
Therefore,
-All visitors will demonstrate respect for museum property.
-All visitors will honor the property by consuming food/drinks
on the museum porch only, discarding waste in designated receptacles.
-Visitors will respect the privacy rights of other guests and
refrain from taking photographs and videos of children other
than your own.
